She is a native of Douglas, Georgia where she began to develop her leadership skills early in life. She served in the state board for the Georgia Association of Student Councils and was elected class president during her junior and senior year of high school.

Moira held positions in several organizations, participated in various community service programs, and was an honor graduate of Coffee High School. She migrated to the Atlanta Metropolitan Area in 1999 and currently resides in Fayette County.

She attended Morris Brown College on a scholarship as a member of the famous Marching Wolverines band and even performed in the blockbuster movie, Drumline. Later, Moira transferred and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Computer Information Systems from the Georgia State University.

Before settling down into her field, she decided to conquer her fear of flying and travel more. She became a flight attendant for Atlantic Southeast Airlines in 2005 shortly after her graduation from Georgia State University.

Moira expanded her qualifications and added a new credential to her resume when she became a flight attendant instructor in 2010. After nearly 6 years of flying, it was time to put her education to use. In 2011, she was hired as an eLearning Specialist to develop computer-based training courses for pilots and flight attendants for ExpressJet Airlines.

In 2012, she got promoted to Learning Management System Administrator, servicing both ExpressJet Airlines in Atlanta and its parent-company, SkyWest Airlines, headquartered in St. George, Utah. She was responsible for overseeing and administering all online training company-wide across both operations. In 2016, Moira was recruited by SANS Institute, the world's largest source for information security training. She is currently a Client Support Engineer on the SANS Security Awareness Product Support Team. Moira

also earned her Event Planning Certificate from Emory University in 2015 and became a GIAC Certified Project Manager in 2018.

Moira has been a member of the Prince Hall, Order of the Eastern Star since 2007. She has held numerous positions in the chapter. Moira was the recipient of the 2019 Star of the Year Award for Julia K. Neal Chapter #582. She is also a member of Nabbar Court #123, an auxiliary of Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles Mystic Shrine (AEAONMS). She was the first female member elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Star of Georgia Foundation.

Moira enjoys traveling, spending time with loved ones, and volunteering in the community. Other hobbies include reading, watching movies, listening to music, and sampling food.

Moira accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at the tender age of 9 at her family’s church home, Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ashburn, Georgia. She and her family are active members of Flat Rock A.M.E. Church in Fayetteville, Georgia.

Moira lives her life according to the Golden Rule of “Treat others the way you would want to be treated.”   She believes that we are only responsible for our own actions, no matter what others do and we are the only ones who can determine our own destiny.

Our Story

The Kevin & Moira Pratt Foundation was birthed from the vision of the founders, Kevin and Moira Pratt.  Decades before ever meeting each other, they both thrived on the excitement of helping children in various capacities. They fueled their desire to assist those in need by joining organizations that focused on serving in the community. Kevin and Moira met in 2011 when they were paired to work together as the Master and Mistress of Ceremonies  for a scholarship banquet honoring local high school students with financial assistance for college. They became the best of friends over time as they discovered their commonalities and shared future aspirations. Kevin and Moira married on June 1, 2014 in a private destination ceremony. In the following months, they created a family vision that concludes with "We will use our gifts to assist those in need for the uplifting and building of God's kingdom." In 2019, The Pratt Foundation became the vessel to carry out that vision.

Moira began tutoring students during summer programs in the 1990's and was trained as a Peer Mediator to resolve student to student conflicts. She enjoyed volunteering and spent countless hours working with children at the Phyllis Wheatley YWCA and the City of Refuge Homeless Shelter, and  donating books for Africa. Moira  has conducted pageant workshops for five years. She teaches young ladies poise and charm, walking the runway, public speaking,  and intellectual functioning.

Kevin served as the  Mayor's Youth Director for Ward 8 in Washington, D.C. in the early 1990's. He volunteered with Junior Achievement at AT&T in 1995 and 1996. He coached youth football in Boston, MA in 1996 and later worked with the youth athletics program in Gwinnett County, GA for 9 years. He also worked with the 100 Black Men of America Leadership Academy and served as their Director of Public Relations from 1999 - 2002.

He later served as  the Director of Public Relations for Star of Georgia Foundation, Inc. in 2011 until he was elected as President for the 2018 - 2019 term.  Kevin has conducted numerous workshops including the following:

Department of Human Services Workshop at Georgia State University

Georgia CARES Workshop at Georgia Tech

Adversity Quotient Workshop for the Knights of Pythagorus at Fort Valley State University

Together, Kevin and Moira helped launch the Students Taking Initiative, Next Generation (S.T.I.N.G.) Leadership Program. They have also hosted youth groups in the Skybox at the Atlanta Dream game and Atlanta Hawks game. They have also donated toiletry boxes to Carrie Steele-Pitts Home youth residents. They continue to look for new opportunities to serve and inspire youth to achieve their dreams.
